I read mainly because I like to read. Reading a book is really fun and you can do it anywhere. It can take your mind off of something, and if you are bored you will always have something to do. When I am reading it is all up to me to create the story in my head. It's not like a movie where everything is all played out, some of the things are up to interpretation. I like that I get to be creative in that aspect. I also read because the more you read the more language you will pick up and the more words you will know. Having a wide variety of words to choose from is very rad.

Sometimes reading is basically a chore because of school assignments. In those cases the reasons why I would be reading that book are very slim. It would be just to know what we are talking about in class. Nothing more, nothing less.

And lastly another reason why I read is for simple things like when I am trying to push a "pull" door and there is a sign that says pull. Or if I accidentally drank a bottle of cleaning solution I could read the number on the label for poison control.

Out of all of the reasons the main one is just because reading is great. It can take you to somewhere you could never have even dreamed you would be. With reading I have gotten to understand a lot more about life than I would have without reading.
